The work undertakes to redefine the course of the creative development of the Byzantine monumental art, towards a flourishing contemporary continuity. Through digital and interactive mechanisms and practices, it enriches and enhances the two-volume treatise of Fotis Kontoglou "Ekphrasis of the Orthodox Iconography", which, even today, is the ultimate manual for painters and scholars of Byzantine art.
As the physical book performs a complete and systematic codification of the theory and practice of Orthodox Iconography, the project 4.0 redefines the data of this codification, combining them with archival material from the Karousos Archives, to give a digital and interactive application. reformulating the treatise both based of its knowledge and its relationship with the user.

Hortus Conclusus concerns an interdisciplinary project of the ecological, anthropological and cultural environment and it’s artistic realisation through the convergence of art, science and technology.
Considering all fields as integrated landscapes - rural, biological, sacred and artistic, it emphasizes the holistic approach of a syncretic and auto-poetic ecosystem, creating a set of integrated principles, in terms of its holistic environment.
The research leads to the cultivation of three syncretic gardens (noetic, virtual and physical), intending to reintegrate various forgotten entities -biotic and abiotic- that are considered essential to the coherence of a contemporary integral ecospace.
